BONITA SPRINGS (NOVEMBER 7, 2016) – Trish Leonard, President of the Everglades Wonder Gardens, announced the recent addition of Vince Modarelli to the Everglades Wonder Gardens Board of Directors. Modarelli, a sales director and manager for Gannett, has worked as an advertising sales professional for over 20 years. He was selected for Board service because of his demonstrated commitment to Bonita Springs and his extensive experience in community service and leadership.
Modarelli will lead the Everglades Wonder Gardens Board in establishing its new Community Business Partnerships program. This program is designed to provide business owners with opportunities to partner with the Everglades Wonder Gardens to promote their businesses in the community while providing financial support to “Preserve the Wonder” of the Gardens. Initially, proceeds from this program will provide much needed funds to renovate animal enclosures, add new botanical offerings and create new exhibits.
“We are looking forward to working with Vince. Many of our Board members have seen the results of Vince’s hard work and leadership through his service on the Bonita Springs Chamber of Commerce Board. Others recall his leadership with the Bonita Springs Estero Economic Development Council. Still others know him from Leadership Bonita and Rotary Club of Bonita Springs Noon. Vince’s leadership and connection to the community will help us build upon the legacy of the Everglades Wonder Gardens for the future,” said Leonard.
“I look forward to serving the community as a Board member of Everglades Wonder Gardens. It is my passion for our Southwest Florida lifestyle that inspires me to help preserve the future of the Wonder Gardens. I intend to use my leadership experience to help the community preserve this historical, environmental and educational landmark.” said Modarelli.
The Everglades Wonder Gardens Board recently began implementing a strategic plan that includes major additions to the Gardens, including new buildings and programs, as well as new offerings in environmental education and ecotourism. “The Board has worked tirelessly with our staff and community partners to save the Wonder Gardens from development. We are excited about the skills and talents Vince brings to the Board,” said Dennis Gilkey, Vice President. “Vince’s commitment to the Wonder Gardens is shared by many community members who have joined us with their gifts of time and financial contributions. We’re excited about what the future holds for the Gardens.”
